"Helpful maps, thankfully"
The maps were easy to read and actually helped me a lot. I do wish everything else had been a bit smoother, but credit where it’s due, the maps did their job.

"I found the country guides quickly…"
I found the country guides quickly, and the pages loaded without any issues, which was nice. The menus were easy enough to understand, so I didn’t really have any trouble getting around. That said, the site felt a bit basic overall, but it did the job without any hassle.

"Easier Than I Expected"
I had to change my subscription and expected it to be a bit of a hassle, but it was really simple. I found the settings quickly, made the change without any back-and-forth, and everything updated right away.

"Frustrating and Not Very Reliable"
I really wanted to like this, but it’s been hard to use and it freezes way too often. I kept wondering if I was doing something wrong, but I just need it to work consistently and feel a bit more dependable

"Easy to read and great for travel inspiration"
I use lonelyplanet often when I’m just starting to think about a trip or when I want a few ideas for places I might not have considered yet. What I like most is that the writing is usually clear, simple, and easy to follow, without sounding overly polished or like it’s trying too hard to be fancy. Some of the guides include these nice little details about neighborhoods, food, or local atmosphere that actually help you picture the place a bit better, which I really appreciate. That said, not every article feels equally strong. A few of them come across as a little rushed, or they stay so general that I don’t feel like I learned much beyond the basics. But overall, I still find the site helpful, enjoyable to browse, and definitely nicer to read than a lot of other travel websites. For the writing itself, I’d give it 4 stars

"Felt Like a Local Spot"
It felt local, which I liked. Not too polished or touristy, and it had that kind of neighborhood vibe where people seem to actually know the place. I did wonder a little if some of the recommendations were meant to nudge me toward the pricier stuff, but overall it still felt genuine and easygoing.

"Handy little travel helper for Italy"
Grabbed the Lonely Planet ebook before my Italy trip. Kind of last minute, honestly. Downloaded fast, opened on my phone right away, no weird setup or anything. And once I was there, it was actually really useful. Standing on a street corner, trying to figure out where to go next. Search bar instead of flipping through pages. Much better. The maps loaded fine, the sections didn’t lag, and I could pull it up whenever I needed. Nothing fancy to say, really. It just worked. I’d use it again for another trip.

"Quick delivery and packed properly"
I ordered a Lonely Planet guide and it showed up sooner than I thought it would. The tracking was easy to follow, and the book was packed really well — no bent corners or damage, which is always nice because that kind of thing feels totally avoidable. Overall, it was a straightforward experience, and I’d order from them again.

"Planning felt so much easier"
For me, this made planning my trip way less stressful. I usually get overwhelmed trying to figure everything out, but this helped me feel a lot more organized and relaxed about the whole process.

"Offline use wasn’t as reliable as I hoped"
I bought the Lonely Planet guide mostly so I could use it offline while traveling, but it didn’t work as smoothly as I expected. It was fine when I had Wi-Fi or data, but some maps and pages either took forever to load or just wouldn’t show up when I had no signal. And this is where it got annoying, because offline access was the whole reason I got it in the first place. I ended up screenshotting important info ahead of time just to be safe. It’s not useless, but I wouldn’t fully rely on it when you’re actually offline.

"Surprisingly easy to update my account"
I needed to change my login details and double-check my account settings on Lonely Planet, and I was expecting it to be a hassle. I’m always a little skeptical with account stuff because if something breaks, dealing with customer service is usually the worst part. But this time it was straightforward. No weird extra steps, no confusing pages, and everything saved the way it was supposed to. I was able to log back in right away, so thankfully I didn’t have to contact anyone. It just worked like it should.

"Helpful Support and a Smooth Fix"
I had a small issue getting my booking guide to download, but support got back to me quickly. It did take one extra email to fully sort it out, but everything was handled well in the end. Overall, it was a good experience, and I’d be happy to use them again...

"Honestly, the info was right"
I was kind of expecting a few things to be off, but nope. The maps lined up, the little tips actually helped, and I didn’t end up wandering around confused. Saved me some time. A bit of hassle too, honestly.

"I really like Lonely Planet and the travel…"
I really like Lonely Planet and the travel info is genuinely useful, but using the site on my phone was kind of a pain. Pages took forever to load, the menu kept shifting around when I tried to tap it, and some buttons were so tiny I kept missing them. For example, I’d try to open a destination guide and accidentally hit something else, or I’d be scrolling through restaurant tips and the page would suddenly jump, or I’d have to pinch and zoom just to read a section properly. It happened with articles, maps, navigation menus, pretty much all over the place. The content is still good, like hotel ideas, itinerary suggestions, neighborhood guides, all that stuff, but the mobile experience definitely needs some work.

"Easy, smooth checkout experience"
I bought a guide on lonelyplanet.com the checkout process was really straightforward. The pages loaded quickly, my payment went through without any random errors, and the confirmation email showed up right away. I appreciated that there weren’t a bunch of extra steps to click through. It was simple, quick, and hassle-free, which is exactly what I was hoping for. I’d definitely use it again.

"Surprisingly up-to-date, even though I usually use another guide"
I’ve always been loyal to another travel guide site, so I wasn’t totally expecting Lonely Planet to win me over. But I used lonelyplanet.com for a recent trip the info felt really current. Opening times, local tips, little practical details, everything seemed up to date, and I didn’t run into the kind of stale info I’ve seen elsewhere. Kind of conflicted now, because I still like my usual go-to, but Lonely Planet was genuinely useful and easy to trust.

"Some Helpful Bits, But Not Worth It Overall"
A few of the tips were decent, but a lot of them felt outdated or not very useful for the trip I was actually planning. I don’t expect everything to be perfect, but if people are paying for travel advice, it should feel current and genuinely helpful. I was hoping for better and felt a little let down.

"Helpful for Planning!!!"
I mostly use Lonely Planet when I’m trying to figure out which areas are worth visiting, and how much time I should set aside for each place!! The coverage is solid overall, especially for bigger cities and the more popular travel routes... but yeah, some of the smaller towns or less touristy spots feel a little light on detail. A few sections could definitely use an update too!!! Still, it’s really handy when I’m just starting to put a trip together. Not perfect by any means, but useful enough that I keep coming back to it!!

"Super Helpful Itinerary"
The itinerary was really helpful and made it so much easier to know what to do and when. It took a lot of the stress out of planning, and I felt more relaxed and confident throughout the trip. Overall, I was just really glad to have it.
